We had a great Areopagus last time at the Spankies! Thanks to them for opening up their home to our invasion. A number of interesting topics were discussed, including:

  • Do artificially created embryos have souls?
  • What are the the top ten books you would recomend to people our age?
  • Can spirits harm the living? Can the living see spirits? (This one took forever.)
  • How and when was the decision made which books should be in the bible?
  • Is it sinful to attend a different rite than the Latin Rite?
  • What is the hardest part of skydiving?
  • What is your opinion on the recent Papal comments on Abortion, Contraception, and Gay Marriage?
Our next meeting will be at the Peddemors' house, on the 18th of October. Address to follow.

Areopagus is this Friday, July 19th , at 7:00 P.M., at the Sacred Heart Rectory, 700 Maple Vista, Imlay City, 48444. Note: Google maps sends you about half a block south of Sacred Heart. The rectory is the brick building south of the Church. Bring a dish to pass, an inquisitive mind, and a friend with another inquisitive mind. See you then!

Hello Everybody! We recently had a wonderful areopagus at the Romstads, where important questions were asked such as:

  • If you see someone wearing two threads of clothes, do you have to stone them to death?
  • Is smoking cigarettes a mortal sin?
  • Can you preform activities that prevent from going to Mass?
  • Is it a mortal or venial sin to eat meat on Friday without doing penance for it?
  • What are the affects?
  • Is Screamo music intrinsically evil?
  • Since Christ sanctified all water when he was baptized, why does the priest exorcise the water when he blesses it?
  • Can one go into professions where there will be pressure to do immoral things?
Our next Areopagus will be at Raymond's house. I am not posting his address on the blog this time, so if you need directions contact me henry@trailblazerswyd.org. If you want to ballpark it, it's somewhere in St. Clair. See you on the 15th!
