I think by now everyone has heard that I'll be assigned to Sacred Heart, Imlay City, starting on July 1. Fr. Zeek (Fr. Ezequiel Mondragon) has expressed his encouragement and enthusiasm for the upcoming change. I can't see why not start again our Areopagus meetings?
The Longs have invited us to use their home as our location for our first meeting. (Or our second first meeting, if that makes any sense to you!) In principle, I'm planning on continuing these meetings on the third Friday of the month. Of course, not everyone can make it every meeting, but that's because you're all so busy, and that's OK. But before we actually confirm the date, I'll have to get a grip on what obligations will fall on my doorstep when I move to Imlay.
The Longs are noted, among their many praiseworthy qualities, for being superb at organizing bonfires towards the late evening...
Incidentally, my great grandfather Slattery had a farm on Slattery road; by providence I'm returning to where my old Irish roots still remain. More on this later.
See you in July! (Don't forget to bring a munchie, if you can!)
